It’s not just people with focused business-heads who benefit from the marketing magic of the Eight Wire team. Every now and then we have the chance to dip our toes into the waters of not-for-profit organisations doing good work at the heart of the community around us in Cornwall.
One such group is Falmouth Tall Ships Association – these are the people who work tirelessly, without pay, to continue Falmouth’s historic links with some of the world’s greatest sailing ships.
The association’s work stretches from assisting ships from ports around the workd in visits to the port of Falmouth to encouraging local people to go sailing on the ships, and to arranging for Falmouth to host the start or finish of prestigious tall ships races that invigorate the port and offer a welcome shot in the arm for Cornwall’s economy.
A CHANCE TO GO SAILING (if you’re 16-25)
• There are still limited places to sail aboard an amazing ship, the Gulden Leeuw, which will set sail from Falmouth on July 21 on a fabulous voyage through Europe, taking in the waters of the Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden and Germany. The trip is heavily subsidised by the FTSA for local people aged 16 to 25. Click on the FTSA website for more information.
